One load of Haylage made on the farm, still more to make, (when the grass grows!, not a good year for hay in our area)) Welcome to everyone 2010
We have just had an article printed in the Camping and Caravan Magazine, Laura Rainbow and her boyfriend Jono, braved the weather and stayed in one of our Tipi's last year, it was a truly horrendous night, Wet, Wet, Wet was all you could say!
Read her article and how she survived the wet and the rutting season with the local Deer !!
We have a developed a new booking system, which should make life easier, although a bit more automated, still very personal.
2009 News
Having
just completed our first full season, we look back to this time last year
and realise just how much has been achieved in the past year.
Although we are still a very basic site ,little by little we upgrade as we go along, our wish list is getting longer while still keeping the atmostphere of Longthorns relaxed
The Fire pits have been a huge success, it is truely a lovely sight to see happy campers sat round a camp fire chatting and enjoying each others company. The campfire burning marshmallows toasting, a memorable smell!
Children have learnt that a great game of cricket, football or tennis can beat playing on their DS, we have had some real team spirit amongst campers, Dad's have had to become "Team Coach" for the games, friendships made between children and fellow campers!
The Tipi's have wittnessed some great celebrations, a 40th, a family Fest, Stag , Hen nights and a wedding night ,which I have to say looked so Romantic !!,Solar lights, Candles, Ballons Champane on Ice, what more could a bride want!!
We have also had "thanks" to the "Great British Weather" some miserable wet nights , campers new tents leaking, drips in the Tipi's !!, but we are so lucky with our site, a few hours of Sunshine and the ground is back to normal
The farm side has progressed with Mark making more hay & haylage and plans for next year are underway
